On 27th April, 2023, Women Cell, a unit of Jhanji Hemnath Sarma College Teacher’s Unit, in association with NSS Unit, Jhanji Hemnath Sarma College organised a Health Awareness Programme in the institution’s adopted Village. For the same, Dr Pragya Annakha Gogoi was invited as a resource person to speak on the topic “Health and Hygiene for Women”. The event also included distribution of sanitary napkins to women of the village which were sourced from a non- governmental organisation- Pathik.
The International Women's Day was celebarted at Jamuguri L.P. School by Jhanji Hemnath Sarma College with the special gathering of adopted village of the college. Six elderly women were feliciated during the event.
A blood Grouping Camp was organised by NSS Unit and Student Support & Progression Cell, Jhanji Hemnath Sarma College in association with Joint Director of Health Service, Sivasagar. 186 no of individuals were benefited by the programme.
7-Day NSS special programme (Camp) was organised at Deoraja neighbouring area which included Schools, Maidams and Village Survey, Practice Teaching, Workshops on debating, Speech and Recitation etc were conducted. A plantation and Cleanliness drive was also organised for the same event.
The International Women's Day was celebrated outside the college campus in the adopted village of the college with the initiative of NSS, Bharat Scout and Guide and UBA Cell, Jhanji Hemnath Sarma College
One day traffic rules awareness programme was organised by the college authority in the Jhanji area of Sivasagar district to make the public more concern about the rules to be followed on the roads for safety and prevention of accidents.
The Camp was organised by Women Cell in collaboration with NSS unit on the occasion of International Day Celebration in Moran Chinga Gaon, Sivasagar and 150 families have benefited from the camp. 50 NSS volunteer participated in the programme.
College fraternity in collaboration with NSS Unit organised the flood relief camp in the Dikhowmukh Area, Sivasagar District. Distributed rice, medicine, mineral water and other essential items among the flood affected 52 families.
