The exhibition cum sale centre initiative is one of a kind which was organised by Women Cell of Jhanji Hemnath Sarma College in association with the Department of Commerce. This event was organised on 11th April, 2023 within the college premises. The main idea behind this initiative was to encourage the students to showcase their skills and abilities with the scope of generating revenue. With this initiative, the institution tries to build entrepreneurial skills among the students.
The Trust Awards of Jhanji Hemnath Sarma College on different categories have distributed to the students in a programme where the newsletter of the college was also inaugurated. A total in 8 categories were distributed by Trustees with the blessings to the students for further growth of their career. In association with this event, the wall magazine of Jhanji Hemnath Sarma College Alumni Association was also unveiled.
The students' Day 2023 was celebrated at college campus in memory of Upendra Nath Brahma, Late Student Leader from Bodo Community of Assam by organising Debate and Quiz competition amongst the students of the college.
An awareness programme on the consumption of tabacco was organised by NSS Unit and Students Support & Progression Cell in collaboration with District Tobacco Control Cell at Jhanji Hemnath Sarma College campus to reduce and eliminate the consumption of tobacco products among the youth.
An awareness programme was organised Ecology and Environment was organised by Social Science Research Cell, Jhanji Hemnath Sarma College in collaboration with Balipara Foundation. Ms Ananya Parasar, Balipara Foundation delivered a lecture on the occasion.
The distribution ceremony of Dr Banikanta Kakati Meri Award 2022-23 was organised at Jhanji Hemnath Sarma College on 9th December 2022. Dr Ranoj Pegu, Hon'ble Education Minister, Govt. of Assam, Sjt Prodip Hazarika, MLA, Amguri LAC, and Sjt Aditya Vikram Yadav, IAS, DC, Sivasagar graced the occasion.
The newly contructed building for Sankardeva Study Centre has been inagurated by Prof. Noni Gopal Mahanta, Advisor, Education Dept., Govt. of Assam. An interaction programme was also conducted on the occasion.
A Run for Unity programme was organised by the NSS and NCC Unit of Jhanji Hemnath Sarma College on the occasion of National Unity Day which was observed in memory Late Vallabhbhai Patel "Iron Man of India". All the stakeholders of the college participated in the programme.
An intertaction cum motivational programme titled "Service Towards Nation : Thoughts and Works" was organised by NSS & Extension Cell, 49 Assam Naval Unit and Campus Development Committee. Mr Rantu Saikia, Indian Defence Accounts Service delivered a lecture on the occasion. While delivering his lecture, he motivated the students to build personality with vibrancy so that they can contribute to the growth of the Nation.
A lecture programme was organised on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti with the initiative of Gandhi Study Centre with the title "Special Programme on Education, Economy and Humanity in Gandhian Philosophy". 108 no of students attended the programme.
The World Tourism Day was observed at college campus with the initiative of IQAC and Green Club. Mrs Navanita Bora, Associate Professor, Department of Assamese delivered a lecture on the occasion. A short flim was presented on the potential area of tourism in front of the gathering.
The World Population Day was observed at college campus organised by NSS Unit and Institution's Innovation Council on the theme "A world of 8 billion: Towards a resilient future for all - harnessing opportunities and ensuring rights and choices for all". Dr Manjit Gogoi, Principal and Mr Basanta Handique delivered their respective lectures in the occasion.
A voter Awareness programme was organised by the district administration, Sivasagar, and JHNS College at the college premises. Noted Assamese Actor Mr. Hiranya Deka participated as a resource person in the program.
A special lecture programme was organised on “Aim in life and personality development” by Sankaradeva Study Centre, Jhanji Hemnath Sarma College. Diganta Bishwa Sharma, a renown philosopher, participated as a resource person for the event.
A special talk was delivered by Ms Udishna Sarmah on the topic "Gender discrimination in Indian Society" and was organised by Research Innovation and Extension Cell, IQAC, Jhanji Hemnath Sarma College.
A special lecture programme was organised titled "Life and Personality of Padmanath Gohain Baruah" on the college premises with the initiative of Sahityakandari Padmanath Gohain Baruah 150th Jonmo Jayanti Udzapon Samittee, Sivasagar in collaboration with Jhanji Hemnath Sarma College. Dr Raju Baruah, Vice Principal, Kakojaan College delivered her lecture on the significance of Gohain Baruah's Personality and his contribution to Society.
A Poem Recitation Programme entitled “Geet Kotha Chandare Sarad Sambhashan” was organised by Language Research Cell, Jhanji Hemnath Sarma College in collaboration with IQAC and Asom Kobi Sanmilan, Jhanji Branch.
A special talk was organised on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti titled "Swach Bharat Abhiyaan and Swachhta in view of Gandhi" with the initiative of Gandhian Study Centre, Jhanji Hemnath Sarma College. Mr Dipak Bora, Associate Prof., SMD College, Charing, Sivasagar delivered the special lecture on the occasion.
A 15 days programme on the occasion of celebrating Azadi Ki Amrit Mahotsav Programme was organised by NSS Unit. The programmes held at the event were 1.Cleaning Programme, 2.Plantation Programme, 3.Health Awareness Programme, 4.Extempore Speech Competition, 5.Essay Competition.
The 57th Foundation day of the college was celebrated magnificantly in blended mode. A meeting was held in this connection via virtual mode in presence of all the stakeholders of the college. Moreover, the peer-reviewed journal "Academia" Vol- VI of the college was also inaugurated on the occasion.
A 3 day workshop on Recitation, Speech and Debating was organised by Social Science Research Cell and Language Research Cell in collaboration with RANGONI-A NGO for the students community accross the State Assam via virtual mode.
A lecture programme was organised by the department of Assamese and IQAC on the occasion of Bishnu Rabha Divas via virtual mode. Dr. Dilip Bora, Prof. Gauhati University delivered a lecture on the topic “Bishnu Rabha Byaktittwa aru Darshan”.
Jhanji Hemnath Sarma College NSS Unit has observed the World Environment Day on 5th June, 2021. The unit in association with the two NGO – “Rengoni” and “Nirvor” have organised an online Speech competition on all Assam basis among the students in two categories, lower section from class VII to X and upper section from class XI upto degree level.
A public meeting was organised by the college authority to introduced Science stream in the college. In the meeting, Prof. Alok Buragohain, Former Vice Chancellor, Dibrugarh University, Prof. Jyoti Prasad Saikia, Vice Chancellor, Vidangana Sati Sadhani State University took part as Resource person in the meeting.
A lecture program was organised to observe National Voter's Day to spread awareness among the students about the importance of voting and participating in the electoral process of one of the world's largest democracies.
Abhijit Mahanta Niluptal Gogoi Memorial All assam Inter College Debating Competition on the topic “Educational Underdevelopment Spurs, Prejudices and Superstitions in Society” was organised by Students union of Jhanji Hemnath Sarma College
